Aetna Dentist

Making High-Quality Oral Healthcare Financially Accessible

Do you have Aetna as your dental insurance? We have great news for you! East Islip Dental Care is actually in-network with Aetna, which means that you have access to the highest quality dental care provided 7 days a week from our amazing team at the lowest cost.

How Your Aetna Benefits Work

Each dental plan differs, even within Aetna’s network, so that’s why our friendly and knowledgeable team is always available to help you understand your own unique plan. Here are the basic things we can tell you about your dental benefits.

Your preventive appointments, meaning your six-month cleanings and checkups, are typically covered at 100% through Aetna coverage, which means there’s no out-of-pocket cost for you. That leaves no reason why you shouldn’t be visiting your dentist every six months.

Restorative treatments, such as a dental filling or crown, are typically covered at a percentage, which likely ranges from 50% to 80%. Some plans have waiting periods before major work like a crown can be done, and we’ll be sure to make you aware if your plan has a waiting period prior to completing any treatment.

Aetna typically doesn’t cover cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening, and many plans don’t offer any benefits for dental implants. An orthodontic benefit may be included in your plan, which typically has a lifetime maximum amount to be paid for orthodontic treatment.

Your plan will also have a yearly maximum that is allowed for dental treatment, and it may include a deductible to be paid before restorative work can be completed.

Take Advantage of Your Benefits

Since there is no cost to you for your six-month cleaning and checkup, you should be taking advantage of these appointments every year in order to protect your oral health. With regular checkups, we are often able to help you avoid many dental issues since we are able to detect problems like tooth decay in its earliest stages. We can also help you successfully deal with issues like gum disease and oral cancer when we detect these concerns early on.

If you have questions about your Aetna benefits, please contact your East Islip Dental Care team to learn more about your coverage. We’ll also be happy to schedule your next appointment for you.
